How to Replace the Interior Rearview Mirror

Removing the interior rearview mirror from the Audi A4 requires a specific procedure because, unlike traditional mirrors, you also need to disconnect the electrical connector located under a plastic ring. Follow these steps: First, gather all the materials needed for a smooth job (a hard plastic trim tool, new mirror); enter the cabin, take the trim tool that will help you pry off the plastic ring covering the electrical cable of the mirror. Once removed, grasp the plastic mount holding the mirror to the windshield and turn it counterclockwise; at this point, you will easily detach the mirror; disconnect the electrical connector; take the new mirror and reinstall it by reversing the steps.
