To replace the battery in the Audi A4 remote, press the button located on the side of the upper chrome trim of the device. This will allow you to slide the key out of its slot, detaching the chrome cover as well.

Once the cover is removed, you can pull out the drawer underneath, which contains the battery. After removing the old battery from the drawer, insert a new one and then slide the drawer back into the remote; after installation, you can also insert the key back into its housing.
