How to Replace the Timing Belt of the Audi A3

In this video, you will learn how to replace the timing belt of the Audi A3. First, remove the water reservoir and the windscreen washer reservoir to access the area. Next, remove the oil filter, marking the position of the hoses (supply and return) with coloured insulating tape. After lifting the engine with a jack, remove the engine mount from the timing side by unscrewing the four bolts. Remove the cover from the timing compartment. Release the tensioner and slide off the timing belt. Unscrew the four bolts of the pulley and remove it. Slide off the cover by unscrewing the five screws. Lock the crankshaft by mounting the locking tool to secure the pulleys. Remove the old timing belt from the pulleys and replace both the pulleys and the belt. Now reassemble the various parts in reverse order.
