Below are the instructions on how and when to replace the timing belt on the Audi A3 2.0 TDI (and other models with the same engine); the manufacturer recommends replacing the belt around 130,000 miles or every 10 years. Therefore, raise the vehicle and remove the front right wheel; take off the wheel arch liner and then the auxiliary belt, followed by removing the crankshaft pulley.

At this point, remove the timing cover and the metal shield, accessing the timing belt; take the necessary references for replacing the belt, following the video tutorial to the end!
