To replace the headliner on an Audi A4, detach the plastic covers on the door pillars using a tool like a screwdriver. Once these are removed, you can take out the handles, the courtesy light assembly, the rearview mirror, and the sun visors. All these parts must be removed by unscrewing their respective mounting screws or disengaging the components from their housings. When all parts are removed, you can take out the headliner from the rear hatch and install a new one.
