Replacing Front Brake Rotors and Pads

Model: Audi A4 B7 - Years 2004-2008

To replace the front brake pads and rotors, lift the vehicle and remove the front wheel; disconnect the outer spring from the brake caliper, unplug the wear sensor connector, and remove the protective caps from the caliper mounting pins; then, unscrew the pins to remove the caliper and extract the old pads, disassemble the caliper bracket and the rotor mounting bolt from the hub; clean the seating area and remove the protective oil from the rotor before installing it; reassemble the caliper bracket, retract the piston using a suitable tool, and insert the new pads by reattaching the caliper and connecting the wear sensor connector.
