How to Replace the Rear Brake Light Bulb on an Audi A3

Model: Audi A3 8P, MK 2 - Years 2003-2013
Part: Tail light bulb

To replace the brake light bulb of the rear lamp, you must first remove the lamp: once the rear bonnet is opened, locate the caps on the inner lining of the boot that correspond to the lamp's housing. After removing the caps, access the plastic nuts that secure the lamp to the body, which can be unscrewed with a screwdriver or a 10 mm socket. After removing the fixing screws, take out the lamp from its housing and disconnect the lamp holder to replace the bulb (bayonet fitting).

First, release the bonnet using the lever, then lift it. To remove the headlamp, you will need to dismantle a significant part of the front bumper. Start by removing the inner wheel arch liner to access the screw that secures the bumper to the wing. Next, remove the screws located on the top of the bumper. This will allow you to unscrew all the bolts securing the headlamp, including the one hidden by the bumper. Finally, disconnect the connector at the back of the headlamp and carry out the necessary replacements.
