To reset the automatic gearbox on an Audi A3, turn on the ignition by turning the key: then, press the accelerator pedal for about 30 seconds. After this interval, you can release the pedal and turn off the ignition: now, when the instrument cluster is turned on again, the automatic gearbox will have been reset and all stored values will return to their initial settings.

By driving for a few miles, the electronics will readjust to your driving style.
