Removing the Engine Air Filter on a BMW R1200Gs

Remove the engine air filter on a BMW R1200Gs. Follow this guide video to proceed with the replacement. Position the motorcycle on a central stand and unscrew the securing screws at the front of the tank, remove the plastics.

Using a screwdriver, unscrew the securing screws of the container, remove the cap and take out the air filter. Fit a new one if damaged or reposition the same after cleaning it (use an air compressor).

Finally, close the air filter container, reposition the tank, and test the operation.

In the case shown in the video, the new keys are not recognised by the ECU: the Vespa starts but does not run (thus the immobiliser is active). The solution shown in the video involves locating the immobiliser chip in the old key (the one recognised by the ECU). Open the cover on the key (only red master keys or some blue ones), remove the chip (which is a small black cylinder or rectangle), insert it into the new key in place of the new one, and try to start. Now the key will work. If the master key is red, it will definitely work. If it is blue, it might work: you need to cut the silicone; this is possible but a delicate operation. If it is a black clone key, then it is a system that does not work.
