Battery Replacement BMW R1200GSA

Descriptive guide for replacing the battery on a BMW R1200GSA. Obtain a new battery. Place the motorcycle on the centre stand.

Using a 3mm Allen key, unscrew the retaining screw of the triangular cover on the right side under the fuel tank. Detach the cover outwards.

Remove the red cap from the battery terminal, taking care with the orientation of the terminals. Using a 10mm socket spanner, unscrew the two screws on the battery terminals.

Unscrew the battery retaining bracket and remove the battery. If the motorcycle is equipped with an alarm, keep the ignition on before disconnecting a terminal.

If the motorcycle is recent and has a remote key from the manufacturer, it is advisable for experienced individuals only to connect the terminals before disconnecting a battery maintainer, and to keep them connected until the battery is fully replaced, ensuring that the two terminals do not touch each other to avoid damage to the maintainer.

Replace the battery and reassemble as per disassembly.

How to Change the Engine Oil on a Benelli 150

To change the engine oil on a Benelli 150, ensure the bike is on a stable surface, using the centre stand to keep it upright. Before starting, it's helpful to run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil and facilitate drainage. Turn off the engine and locate the drain plug situated under the engine. Using an appropriate spanner, loosen the plug and position a container underneath to collect the used oil. Allow it to drain completely, ensuring all the liquid is removed. Once emptied, carefully re-tighten the plug, avoiding overtightening. Using a funnel, slowly pour new oil into the tank, checking the level with the dipstick or inspection window. When the level is correct, start the engine for a couple of minutes to circulate the new oil, then turn it off and check the level again, topping up if necessary.
