To remove the grips on a BMW R1200GS, first remove the hand guards by unscrewing the bar ends and the fastening screws of the hand guards. Once removed, cut off the old grips with a utility knife, being careful not to apply too much pressure, as this could damage the heating element. Next, clean with some alcohol to remove any rubber residue. At this point, by pouring a bit of oil inside the new grips, you will be able to fit them. Finally, reattach the bar ends and remount the screws and hand guards.
