To replace the brake pads on the BMW 1200GS, remove the caliper pin by levering it out with a screwdriver. This should then be lightly tapped to remove it from the rear and slide it out. At this point, insert the screwdriver inside the caliper, leveraging against the pads to push them out. Be careful not to lever against the disc, as it is very fragile. When the old pads have been extracted, you can insert the new pads. Finally, reinsert the pin that was previously removed.
