How to change the engine oil and oil filter of the BMW F800 GS

Below in this guide the instructions on how to carry out the routine maintenance service, replacing the engine oil and the oil filter, of the BMW F800 GS. First of all we put our motorbike on the central stand and we begin to unscrew the oil vent bolt that we find under the engine, letting it drain in a container for about ten minutes; then unscrew the oil filter cartridge with the appropriate wrench, replacing it with the new one (screwing in by hand and then gently tightening). Now unscrew the screw and pour in the new oil, checking the oil level!

First, the fuel cap has a water drainage hole, which must be positioned in a specific way, namely with the half moon towards the driver's seat, as shown in the video. The second thing is not to turn off the engine when the Start & Stop function is active: the engine will only start by pressing the start button; it can be done in reverse, when the engine is idling. The third thing is not to adjust the spring preload too often, and when you do, support the tool with your index finger.
