How to replace the fuel filter on BMW 5 Series? Let's see how to remove and replace the fuel filter: Lift the car on a column lift, locate the fuel filter as shown in the video. Using a socket wrench, remove the fastening bolts near the housing (disconnect the wires and various hoses from the filter) where the fuel filter is located. Once the filter is removed, take it out of the vehicle (replace it with a new filter). Finally, reinstall the filter onto the fuel filter housing (connect the hoses and wires) and tighten the appropriate bolts. Close the hood when finished.
