Here’s how to replace the battery in a BMW 3 Series: open the trunk of the car (in BMWs, the battery is located in the rear) and remove the fabric/plastic cover (located in the trunk). Using a socket or wrench, loosen the retaining bolts on the battery terminals (loosen the two opposite poles) and disconnect them. Remove the old battery and prepare to install a new unit in the trunk. Position the new battery and connect the previously disconnected terminals. Finally, check and test the proper functioning of the battery.
