Learn how to replace the battery in your BMW 3 Series key when it runs low. For this operation, you will need a flathead screwdriver. First, remove the emergency key by pressing the button on the side and pulling the key out. Once the emergency key is removed, insert the screwdriver into the designated slot next to the key insert, then apply pressure to lift the cover and remove it. Once the cover is off, you will have access to the battery, so use the screwdriver to remove and replace it. After replacing the battery, close the key by pressing the cover back on and then reinsert the emergency key into its slot.
