How to Replace the Key Fob Battery for BMW 3 Series Touring E91

To change the battery in a BMW E91 key fob: Start by removing the key blade by pressing the appropriate button. Insert a thin tool into the joint of the two covers and pry them apart. Once the fob is open, remove the circuit board and rotate it to find the battery. To replace the battery, desolder the two terminals + and - of the battery. Take the new battery (battery code VL2020, 3V) and insert it, soldering the + and - terminals onto the new battery. Finally, close the key fob. To recharge the battery, use the BMW key for at least a couple of days.
