Replacing the battery in the key fob for the BMW 3 Series model E90 is a simple and quick task that can be done in under a minute. Press the button on the top of the key fob to remove the top cover and take out the emergency key. Remove the emergency key and insert it into the slot to split the key fob into two parts. Replace the battery and close the key fob. Insert the key back in and attach the top part. To complete the procedure, test the key fob by pressing the lock and unlock buttons when near the vehicle.
