To replace the rear light bulb on the BMW 1 Series, lift the boot lid and remove the plastic cover next to the light. Underneath, there will be a bolt that, once loosened, will allow you to pull the light from its housing. By unclipping the retaining clips, you can remove the bulb holder from the back of the light. The affected bulb can be replaced and reinserted into its housing. Finally, the light can be reinserted into its housing and connected to its connector.
