Key Battery Replacement on BMW X3 E83

Model: BMW X3 MK 1, E83 - Years 2003-2010

Using a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic wedge, pry in the side slot of the key fob. Done! Once you do this, you will have split the key fob into two halves: inside one of them, there will be the battery. Remove the battery from the key using the small flathead screwdriver again and replace it with a new equivalent one that you purchased. Reassemble the fob by snapping the two parts together, and you're done. Test the key's functionality as a final check. As you can see, this is a very simple operation.
