How to Replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on a BMW 3 Series

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

Before you begin, open the hood of your BMW 3 Series. Start by disconnecting the electrical connector of the sensor by simply pulling it towards you. Once done, unclip the metal clamp connected to the hose near the sensor. Next, press the clip attached to the connector on top of the sensor to remove it. After completing this step, press the side clips of the sensor to free it. Once the sensor is free, remove it to finish the disassembly. To install the new sensor and close everything up, simply follow these steps in reverse, and you will have completed the replacement.
