Damage to the car radio display is a common defect in BMWs and often becomes unreadable: fortunately, it is possible to purchase an aftermarket compatible new display that allows you to fix this defect at a relatively low cost; in any case, for display replacement, it is recommended to get help from someone with a minimum of expertise, like a radio technician. Removing the car radio is extremely simple: once you remove the volume control knob (just pull it off), you will find a small hole where a small screwdriver should be inserted to rotate and release the retaining spring (pry along the edge to facilitate extraction).
