Automotive spark plugs must ensure a perfect seal, preventing gases from escaping. They consist of a closed conductor with a terminal part applied at the top and a threaded part at the bottom that allows the spark plug to be screwed into the engine head.

Spark plugs can be cleaned every 6,200 mi. To check them, you need to remove them with special wrenches. Inspect the electrode area, which should be a light brown and uniform color; the electrodes must be smooth.

For cleaning, you can use a cloth and a file.
