Instructions for Removing the Outside Rearview Mirror

Model: BMW X5 E53 - Years 1999-2006
Part: Side mirror

To remove the outside rearview mirror, first remove the door trim panel: there are some screws and a few push clips to disengage. Once the panel is off, free the wiring of the mirror by disconnecting the connectors (needed for the electric adjustment of the mirror). Next, remove the triangular plastic cover located right behind the mirror that protects the tweeter. Then, take out the tweeter itself and unscrew the mounting bolts of the mirror, which can now be removed along with its wiring.
