Remove the Internal Rear View Mirror on BMW

Removing the internal rear view mirror can be useful if you need to clean the windscreen or if it may have been damaged or worn from an impact or simply sunlight. On BMW cars, the procedure is very simple.

Use a flat tool to separate the two halves covering the central bolt where the rear view mirror is attached; you can also use a screwdriver. After that, if the mirror has electrical connections for lighting or indicators, disconnect these connections.

Finally, to remove the mirror, gently grip and rotate to allow the mirror to come out of its mount that holds it securely to the windscreen.
