In order to replace the interior handle of the BMW 5 Series, the corresponding door panel must be completely disassembled: to do this, it will be necessary to detach the cover located inside the interior handle housing. In doing so it will be possible to unscrew the underlying screw, together with those located in the lower area of the panel. Once the latter has been detached, you can loosen the screws that secure the internal handle mechanism from the inside, also disconnecting it from its cable. Then it will be possible to install a new handle, re-attaching the panel to the door.
