Drive Shaft Replacement Instructions

Wear and tear of the drive shaft universal joints results in a sort of clunk that is mainly felt during startup. To remove and replace the drive shaft, lift the vehicle (preferably on a lift rather than on jack stands), lower the exhaust by removing the various mounting points, then remove the heat shield located between the muffler and the frame, and proceed to remove the drive shaft. This involves removing the mounting bolts from the flanges (front and rear) and the central support. Then, reverse the process to install the new drive shaft (you can also opt for a remanufactured one).
