Cleaning the Car Radio Volume Potentiometer
Model: BMW X5
E53
- Years 1999-2006
If the volume knob on the car radio does not change the volume level and you hear a crackling noise from the speakers while turning the knob, there is likely a contact issue inside the potentiometer, probably caused by oxidation. Pull the potentiometer forward to remove it from its housing, disconnect the connector, and clean it with a contact cleaner spray. After spraying the cleaner inside the potentiometer, turn the knob to ensure thorough cleaning. Allow the cleaner to dry and reinstall the potentiometer, which will almost certainly start working again.

How to Remove the Fuel Pump from the Tank on an Opel Astra
How to remove the fuel pump from the tank on an Opel Astra? First, disconnect the battery cables. Next, remove the rear seat cushions from the car. Use a socket spanner to unscrew the securing screws of the metal cap (located on the metal panel), then remove it from its seat. Use absorbent paper around the perimeter to soak up any liquid leaks. Unscrew the large securing bolt of the fuel pump (if present on the model), disconnect the power connectors and the liquid circulation pipes. Extract the floating fuel pump from its seat along with any attached parts. Finally, refit a new piece. by ScegliAuto More videos
