This video shows the procedure to reprogram the key for your BMW 3 Series E46. The procedure takes less than 1 minute to complete. To reprogram the key, insert it and turn it to the first position, then remove it. While holding the unlock button, take out the key and press the BMW logo in the center of the key 3 times, then release the button.

At this point, the car will lock and unlock to synchronize the key. After a few seconds, the key will be synchronized, and the central locking will work again with the key. This procedure is useful after replacing the key battery or if there are issues with the central locking of your E46.
