Removing the External Rearview Mirror
Model: BMW Serie 5
E60, E61
- Years 2003-2010
To remove the external rearview mirror, you must first take off the door panel. Since there is a side airbag in the door, it is recommended to disconnect the battery located in the trunk. Once the battery is disconnected, remove the cap labeled SRS AIRBAG on the panel to unscrew the underlying screw, then remove the cover masking the front screw. Next, release the clips along the edges to complete the removal of the panel, disconnecting all connectors. At this point, detach the plastic cover located right at the mirror and unscrew the two fastening screws to remove it, pulling out the corresponding cable.
