In a BMW X3, the fuel door may become stuck, for example, due to a malfunction of the control button or the actuator of the locking mechanism. In these cases, you can perform an emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in this video.

First, open the trunk lid, then remove the small storage compartment located on the right wall and locate the indicated green cord. Next, grab this cord and pull it towards you to unlock the fuel door.

At this point, you can refuel and repair the faulty component.
