First, open the rear door and lower the seatbacks to access the interior of the trunk area; then use a flathead screwdriver to manually release the trunk latch by pushing inside the gap, as shown in the video.

This will allow you to open the rear trunk lid in an emergency; finally, restore the position of the seatbacks.
