To replace the battery in a BMW X1, open the rear hatch to access the components inside the trunk area. Here, lift the carpet at the base to reach the battery underneath. Remove it from its housing by unscrewing the bolts and disconnecting the power cables: this will allow you to extract the battery and replace it with a new one. After the replacement, cover everything back with the carpet.
