How to Change the Battery in a BMW X1

To replace the battery in a BMW X1, open the hood and locate the battery in the engine compartment. Ensure the vehicle is off, then loosen and remove the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal.

Unscrew the fastening system that holds the battery in place and carefully pull it out. Insert the new battery, ensuring it is oriented correctly, and secure it again with the bracket. Connect the positive terminal first, then the negative, checking that the connections are tight.

Once the installation is complete, use a diagnostic tool to register the new battery in the control unit to update the charging management. Turn on the ignition and check for any error messages.
