Not All BMW Engines Are Reliable: Let's See Which Ones Are

Not all BMW engines are masterpieces: the B58 petrol 3.0 found in the Series 3, Series 4, and Z4 is reliable. It is powerful and quiet, with high reliability, also used by Toyota in the Supra, and with regular maintenance, it does not cause problems. The B47 2.0 is the best diesel in the Series 1, Series 3, and X1. It is an improved evolution of the N47, with a reliable chain and low consumption, but be careful: maintenance must be precise and timely. Conversely, avoid the 2.0 N47 diesel, found in the same models as before. Series 1, Series 3, X1: the timing chain does not last beyond 50,000 miles, the DPF and EGR are chronic issues, and it consumes oil excessively; a real ticking time bomb. The 2.0 N43 petrol engine should also be avoided: it has faulty coils, problematic injectors, power loss, and warning lights that continuously illuminate: an endless hassle. If you already have one of these two engines, the only solution is rigorous preventive maintenance and maximum attention to warning symptoms.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after.
