To reset the service indicator on the BMW 1 Series.

To restore the service reminder on a BMW 1 Series F40 (2021 model), you can follow these steps: Sit in the driver's seat and ensure all doors are closed. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position. Do not start the engine. Use the iDrive controller (the knob or touchpad) to access the "CAR" menu on the infotainment display. Within the "CAR" menu, select "Vehicle Status". Scroll down to find and select "Service Requirements". From the list of service items, locate the one indicating the service that needs to be restored (e.g. "Oil Service", "Vehicle Check", "Brake Fluid", etc.). Highlight the item by scrolling over it. Press and hold the iDrive controller until a submenu is displayed. In the submenu, select the option to reset the service reminder. This option may be labeled as "Reset", "Confirm", or "Reset Service". Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the reset. Once the reset is complete, a confirmation message should be displayed on the screen indicating that the service reminder has been restored.
