These brief steps will show us how to open the fuel filler flap of the BMW 5 Series in case of emergency, following the instructions below. This operation is performed when the remote control battery suddenly runs out and you cannot open the vehicle or the fuel filler flap; so we open the rear hatch and remove the right side cover. Now we pull the cord to open the flap and unscrew the fuel cap, thus refueling; we perform this procedure even when the flap lock is jammed.
