In order to replace the handbrake actuator of the BMW X5, you need to open the rear hatch and then remove the panel on the left side of the trunk: once this panel has been removed, you will be able to locate the handbrake module underneath, which needs to be removed from its housing by loosening the screws of its supports and disconnecting the connectors. At this point, you can insert the new module into its housing, securing it and connecting it properly, in order to verify that everything is working correctly again.
