- Years 2007-2013 In order to reset the handbrake of the BMW X5, you need to connect a diagnostic tool to the OBD port of the vehicle: on this model of car, the port is located on the lower left side of the dashboard compared to the steering column. Once the scanner is connected, you will need to select the specific car model and its corresponding version: in this way it will be possible to reset all the errors present in the control unit following the instructions provided in the video. Finally, you can disconnect the scanner and verify that the handbrake has been reset correctly.
