How to Replace the Serpentine Belt on a BMW X5

Model: BMW X5 E53 - Years 1999-2006

Before you can start, shift into first gear and engage the parking brake on your BMW X5. Begin by lifting the front of the vehicle. Once done, remove the lower belt cover by unscrewing the respective bolts. This will give you access to the tensioner, which you need to loosen by turning it clockwise. After loosening the tensioner, you can remove the serpentine belt, completing the disassembly. To install the new belt, simply reverse this procedure, and you will have finished the replacement.
