How to repair the BMW fuel tank cap

Model: BMW BMW Various
Part: Fuel cap

In this video, we can see how the most common cause of the engine light coming on in a BMW is a loose fuel cap. In fact, an old fuel cap can get stuck and no longer make the necessary click to make contact for opening. Furthermore, the rubber seal can become too compressed to be effective. A quick solution to solve this problem is to spray silicone lubricant - which is the only recommended one in this case - on the cap, then turn it a couple of times until it starts to "click" again: at this point, we mount the rubber seal in reverse. Guaranteed result.
