Replacing the Gear Knob on a Chevrolet Cruze

Today, you will learn how to change the gear knob on a Chevrolet car, using the Chevrolet Cruze as an example. Use a large pair of locking pliers to grip the knob, and once firmly held, rotate it and pull upwards to slowly remove it from the housing. Once unlocked, you can unscrew it by hand, then remove the spring and finally unscrew the hex nut, if damaged. In this case, ensure that a new nut comes with the new knob you purchased, or buy it separately from a hardware store. Refit the spring, provided it is not worn, and then screw the knob back on.
