Apply pressure until the glass detaches from the mirror; this is a delicate operation as the glass or the mirror itself may break. Once the damaged mirror glass is removed, disconnect the power connector for the glass, pressing on the locking clips to detach the mirror cover. Finally, replace the damaged piece with the new one. Ensure the plastic snap clips engage properly in the mirror supports.
