How do you replace the key shell and repair the opening button in a Citroen C2?

Don't worry, if the shell of your car key is broken or the opening button no longer works, you can still repair it yourself. Get a compatible new shell, you can find them online. Carefully open the old shell with a flathead screwdriver by levering along the edges, being careful not to break the electronic board inside. Transfer the board and the transponder into the new shell making sure everything fits. If the button is worn out, try cleaning the contacts with isopropyl alcohol, if it is broken you can replace the microswitch with a soldering iron, or have a technician do it for you. Close the shell, test the key and make sure everything works. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, contact a specialized workshop in this kind of repair.
