Citroen Xsara - Video tutorial

Model: Citroen Xsara MK 1 - Years 1997-2006
Part: Engine
Operation: Replacing the tappet cover gasket

Before applying the new gasket, carefully clean its seat, both on the head side and under the cover itself: cleaning is very important to ensure perfect adherence and therefore the tightness of the gaskets themselves; once the cleaning phase is complete, insert the gaskets in the special grooves present along the edges of the covers, then position them on the head (without applying sealant mastic) and tighten the fixing pins according to a crossed type scheme and using the dynamometric wrench, so to make the seals adhere evenly. After the installation is complete, make sure there are no leaks.

Let's see in this short and simple guide the instructions that will allow us to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo. First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again!
