Citroen Xsara - Video tutorial

Model: Citroen Xsara MK 1 - Years 1997-2006
Part: Engine
Operation: Head gasket replacement

When replacing the cylinder head gasket, it is good practice to have the cylinder head rectified to eliminate any deformation induced by overheating; after flattening, check the flatness of the surface using a ground bar and a thickness gauge for valves; carry out the same check on the cylinder block. Using a tap, pass the threads of the cylinder head fixing holes, paying attention so that no chip residues end up in the cylinders. At this point, apply the new gasket and the cylinder head and use a new set of pins to fix it, tightening them in a crisscross pattern and using both the torque and the graduated wrench.
