Citroen Saxo - Video tutorial
Model: Citroen Saxo
MK 1
- Years 1996-2004 Replacing the rear jaws has among its pitfalls re-hooking the springs, but with the right tools and a few tips you can do it; start by lifting the car, remove the rear wheel, remove the protective cap of the drum fixing nut and unscrew the nut to be able to remove the drum itself; then release the springs and the fixing pins of the shoes to be able to remove them, also freeing the handbrake cable; carefully wash the seat of the jaws and if there are oil residues proceed with the replacement of the cylinder: unscrewing the pins may require the use of cutting tools; then install the new cylinder by applying copper grease to the fixing pins; therefore move the handbrake levers on the new shoes and install them on the hub, resetting the adjuster and correctly hooking the springs; make sure that the drum rotates freely before tightening the central nut and retightening it to then complete the assembly by also bleeding the system.
