This video demonstrates how to easily repair or replace the handbrake switch on the Citroen C4 Picasso. Open both sides of the centre console and pull it towards you, taking care with the electrical connections inside, including the one for the handbrake button, which is operated by a lever.

Remove the four screws and you will find microswitches inside. Spray them with WD-40 and then try to refit everything to see if the function is restored.

If the button is still stuck, it will need to be replaced. This component can be found on Amazon with the code B08JGBSKGX for £17.99, with free delivery for Prime customers.

After replacement, everything was back in place, but it was certainly worth trying to repair it first.
