How to Replace the Boot Light on a Cupra Ateca with a Brighter One

Replacing the boot light bulb on your Seat/Cupra Ateca is a straightforward task. You will need a "festoon DE3175" or DE3022 bulb rated at 12V and 5W. The light is integrated into the trim of the tailgate located at the centre of the upper part. Open the boot, locate the bulb holder, and gently push it to one side (usually the side opposite the hinges) to release it. Sometimes it is held by two small clips. Remove the old bulb and insert the new LED bulb in the same orientation, pressing the spring contacts until it is securely in place. Before positioning the bulb holder, turn on the boot light to ensure the new LED works and does not flicker. Refit the bulb holder until you hear the clip click into place.
