How to Replace the Engine Oil in the Dacia Duster

The red oil warning light on the dashboard of the Dacia Duster mk1 indicates that it is time to change the engine oil and oil filter. Remember that the oil change should always be combined with the oil filter replacement.

To perform the oil change, open the front bonnet and remove the oil filler cap. Pour a cleaning product into the oil reservoir to clean it before topping up; keep the liquid in the reservoir for about 15 minutes after running the engine. Then, lift the vehicle using axle stands and a jack and remove the bolt that secures the oil sump.

Allow the oil to drain into a container, then replace the bolt. From the front bonnet, remove the oil filter housing and replace the filter inside; refit the housing and proceed to top up the oil in the reservoir.
